One of a kind creations handmade in the Shetland Islands
The Wumples are quiet, peaceful creatures. They are usually found hanging around Shetland's shorelines, watching the moon and keeping an eye on the tide.
They've been seen collecting a variety of seaweeds from the shore, so I assume that's what they eat. Although I've heard stories that they're partial to a bowl of tattie soup! They barter with the Pottsies swopping seaweed for vegetables. I would guess the Pottsies use the seaweed to fertilize their veg patches, and in return give the Wumples the ingredients for their tattie soup.
The Wumples measure around 6cm tall and vary in colours, depending on where about they dwell the most, making them tricky to spot.
What I love the most about the Wumples, is they don't know that they're camouflaged! They believe that if they stay VERY VERY STILL they become invisible! Which works well when they're camouflaged in their natural habitat, but not so much when they're not! It's best just to pretend not to see them and leave them to do their thing!
